I know that you need a cdrom that reconizes the graphic files on the CDGs to rip them to a computer. But do you need a burner that reconizes them to make backup MP3+G files? I already have a DVD/CD burner but it's not compatible. I was hoping to just buy a cdom for ripping and using my DVD burner to make backup DVDs.
Also, What cdrom do you recomend
Thanks Pat

There is a world of difference between a CD+G disc and the files you get when you rip the CD to MP3+G
The graphics part of a CD+G disc is interlaced "between" the audio tracks and "invisible" to file manager programs, like Explorer..
This is why you can get a full 80 minutes of audio on a CD+G PLUS the graphics.
When you RIP the CD, you get two VERY visible files that can be burned to a CD or DVD as usual, using the "Data backup" option of most burner software.
