how do i hook up my mixer to my hp laptop ?

I have a pro-pyle mixer and amp. I also have a laptop I need to know how to hook them up where and what cables where to find them is there any converter conector rca cable to computer? .

I used the headphone output of the computer.

Using a wire with the appropriate headphone connector and the other end has RCA connectors. Red & White. This goes to an audio ground loop isolator (Radio Shack) Then that goes to the mixer inputs. I use Red on the right and white for the left. I use two different channels. (Side by side)

Now to video ....does the HP have a video out?

You could also use a "Y" cord and put them both into one channel.

My mixer has a light on each channel to indicate signal coming in. Using two channels I can see if I have a bad wire. Music playing and only one light lit could mean a bad wire. Something I use as a troubleshooting tool.
