Last night I had a female singer new to my show.
I watched her come in the bar and it was kinda like a grand entrance. You could tell she was there.
She sits and listens with her date for about an hour. Then she turned in her song. When I handed her the microphone she proceeded to make a big deal out of her being next and how shy and nervous she was. Well from the first note there was no shyness as she belted out a performance as good as any I have ever heard.
A few minutes later she came up and told me she was the entertainment coordinator for a chain restaurant in the mall. She wanted to book me for upcoming parties and other events. I had to tell her I was totally booked at this time.
I guess I passed "my" audition.
Why the big shy act?
