Bar Manager Suggestion

Post by Bigdog »

I went to hang one of the signs yesterday and a shift manager that is there on some of my nights, suggested that I make some mini flyers to put on the lobby/entrance way counter for people that come in for take out orders.

She said they will read anything laying around to waste some time while they wait.

So I'm going to leave some tonight and we will see what happens. They are 1/4 size (4 on a page) copies of my bar posters.

Most bar/restaurants do a good take out business. So she may be on to something. Anything that can bring in more business can't be bad. We will have to wait a few weeks and I'll keep checking on the supply to see if any get taken. They have some color on them to attract attention.

Converting a take out customer is a good prospect. They already like the food. Now we just need them to like the entertainment.

I did that for the deli. They were put up by the cash register and were supposed to go in take-out bags.

Then I saw the owner using them as scratch-paper. I haven't given her anymore. :nonod:

Hopefully it will work out better for you.

That's a good idea ......the scratch paper...not putting them in the take out orders.

Karaoke logo scratch pads. 8) :rocker:

I had a world famous Quarterback sitting 10 feet behind me tonight on the patio.

When I turned around we were eye to eye. 8)

He must have heard about me.... :cigar:

He was probably thinking I'm sitting 10 feet away from a world famous KJ.

I wouldn't give him an autograph....he was bummed...

Well the mini flyers are still where I put them. It doesn't appear that any are gone. They probably are not allowed to put them in with any orders because of corporate rules. You never know unless you try it.

Hello BigDog
Don't be discouraged if the stack isn't gone. Are you able to put a coupon on it ... say for .50 off a drink on Karoake night? Perhaps a free appetizer ...

That accomplishes two things
1) gets you people in the bar
2) gets the bar knowing which sales YOU are responsible...

The bar has a good bit of advertising going on. They did several thousand mailing flyers with coupons and they have some radio ads too. It's a big restaurant chain so they have corporate help with advertising.
