Going back to wired mics have a question
Is there a way to permanently mount a jack to a rack in a way that a singer can't yank the mixer, which is held into the rack via Velcro on a sliding shelf in the rack? I have a pair of jacks that have locking 1/4" jacks on both sides that I have been able to mount using screws into the back rack rails on my rack for the original purpose of not having to go inside the rack to plug in my speaker cables but can't find them anywhere now. I believe that I got them on eBay. Tried mounting them to the side of the rack but all my drill bit did was put a scrape line mark on the rack. Didn't do any structural damage thank goodness so I decided to drill one of the holes in the jack bigger so that I could fit a small rack screw through it and attach it to the back rack rails in my rack. I would hate to have to use those for the mic cables but it looks like that is what I am going to have to do until I can find some more of the jacks that I have for the speakers.
