What is a good vocal reducing software that will take out the lead vocals in a regular CD and do these products really work well? Thanks!

Vocal reducing software, and hardware for that matter, very rarely perform satisfactorily. Be assured that the music quality will always be degraded. I have tried many of these programs and believe that Vogone by http://www.mtu.com is the best of them.

That may be true for commercially available software, but the examples on the CSP Audio site go far beyond what Vogone can do. Unfortunately they don't sell the software it seems.

Naturally CSP would post their most successful examples and, of course, a sound studio would be able to produce better results than commercial PC software. The fact remains that vocal reduction does not provide high quality results. If you just have to have a good quality backing track, that has not been released on a karaoke disc, you should have it professionally created by someone such as http://www.trackfish.com .

I've had some good results by modifying midi files (changing instruments etc.).
Some of them come close to sounding like a real band/orchestra playing.
Certainly better results than any "vocal removers" that I've tried.
