I suspect someone hit a pole.Everyone made a comment about the loud cracking noise that came blasting from the speakers. The power was out about 5 minutes. I turned off my amplifier and left everything else alone. The computer being a laptop stayed on, running on the battery.
After the power came back on I waited a few minutes to make sure it wouldn't flicker like it does many times when the power comes back on. I was somewhat affraid to power up fearing I may have lost a speaker or two.
Everyone was like...what are you going to do????
Power up and hope everything is good.
The Yamahas came through again without any damage. Almost 18 years with Yamaha speakers and never a failure. I think I blew 4 -- 18" Black Widows in a year and a half. But thoses were in Pee Veessss under normal use.
All the other equipment worked too. But I do have a $450 surge protector from ZERO SURGE...Thank God it keeps paying for itself.
