How to hook up my laptop to my Karaoke Machine

Can anyone help me out on how and what I need to hook my laptop up to my home karaoke unit? I have a V2GO 200 unit and a IBM thinkPad

If your unit has RCA Auxilary inputs, you would connect there.

Then you want to hook the audio via Y cable into the aux input jacks.

Why do you want to connect a laptop to the karaoke machine?

Because I want to play songs that I have stored on my laptop, and sing them. It would be quicker than digging through my CDs

You just need to run right left audio and video wire to your unit from the laptop. If the inputs are RCA you need a video wire from whatever output your laptop is converting it to whatever the input is on your unit. Do the same with the video connection.

I'm assuming you have a hosting program on the laptop.

Using your unit will be no different than adding a VCR or other external thing.

The unit will only provide an outlet for the audio and video. Jsut as if you hooked your laptop (VCR) to a TV.

On my 2009 Singing Machine I put in a plug in the external port (keyboards guitar) in the front of the machine and the other end goes into the earphone port. It plays fine but as soon as I use my wireless mic the volume of the music goes lower then higher as I stop singing. I went to Guitar Center and the man told me that the machine that old is designed that way and there is no way around it. While my Singing Maching has RCA ports n the back my laptop does not unless there is a device that you plug in the RCA plugs into like a reducer then into the laptop. I do not know if that would work or if such a reducer exists.

Get yourself a Behringer uncontrol soundcard. It plugs into your computer's USB port and has RCA outputs.

Do you have a model number, from the pictures online I can't find one with RCA outputs. This will stop the music from cutting out?
