going digital

WE are going to purchase the digital laptop pc on the mtu sight. What all do we need to purchase with it to make sure we have everything we need. They offer insurance, and several upgrades. What do you suggest? Are they hard to learn how to run? How long will it take us to feel comfortable using the digital and retiring our CDG's? We are anxious!

We also read we should be "computer smart" to run the laptop we are wanting to purchase. What is your advise?

No they aren't hard to leard and maybe being new you can get used to the way their search engine works- I prefer not having to worry about what I am typing in is artist. title or book id and even having it search while I am typing to speed things up.
Also if you are computer smart about repairing a pc then I would suggest getting the pc version as if something goes bad then you can more easily change out the broken part.
