I tried to download the free sample of Karaoke Song List Creator and a warning comes up because of missing valid digital signature. Run only if you trust blab yak....
Why would there not be valid stuff if the company is legit? What's the big deal with them not having it? Can't they create a valid digital signature?
The only reason I'm looking for a new song book program is....KJ Pro has been screwing around for about a year with a new version that will have 3-4 column format. There current version only has 2 columns. I don't want to have a 5 inch thick book.
I'm getting tired of waiting to print new song books. As far as I know they aren't even beta testing it yet. I sent them an email in Sepember asking where it is and I never got a response. I sent a new one today so we will see if they reply to it. I sent them about 10-15 different suggestions for the new version.
The next issue will be if I decide to use a different program.... because I will have to correct tons of song and artists names. Taking up a lot of time.
Song Book Software
Song list generator will do three columns and if you have your files named consistently then it will print them consistently. It will read right off your file names like S&D does.

Hi Bigdog,
yet another result of Bill Gates' bid for World supremacy!
Windows users are now deemed to be so utterly stupid that they have to be warned about anything non Microsoft.
Virtually everything not foisted on us by Microsoft will come up with this "error" message but if you know it's from a valid software distributor, then there will bo nothing wrong with it.
This is the reason we have the crap that is the NT file system, something that should never be on a home computer as when it crashes, it is almost impossible fix unless you have a computer degree.
Try simply copying files in Vista, for example.
I can copy thousands of files using XP in a matter of minutes while Vista asks for permission for every single file.
Utter rubbish.
Bill Gates needs a spear up his rear end to perhaps prick him into thinking about customers for a change.
Rant over! Fell much better now.

I did get a reply from KJP and they claim the new version is coming early this year. It's already March.....
I checked on other song book sites and most don't even have sample screen shots unless I missed them.
I'm going to try to hold out for the KJP version but I'll investigate the Latshaw to see if I will have to do tons of corrections.

I just noticed the Latshaw examples and the artists are alphabetical but they use the atrtists first name first. Like Bob Dylan instead of Dylan, Bob.
It's very confusing to use the artists first name first. Is there an option to do it with the last name first? Or does that have to do with how it's in the database?
Would I have to go in an change the database?

Latshaws Song List Generator simply takes the file name as you have it and presents it in that order.Bigdog wrote:I just noticed the Latshaw examples and the artists are alphabetical but they use the atrtists first name first. Like Bob Dylan instead of Dylan, Bob.

If the files on your hard drive are set out as;
SF001-01 - Rod Stewart - Maggie Mae.ZIP
then SLG will give you columns with Rod Stewart.
If you have SF001-01 - Stewart, Rod - Maggie Mae.ZIP
then SLG will give you columns with Stewart, Rod
It doesn't care whether you have Rod Stewart or Stewart, Rod it will display exactly according the file name order.
