Ive noticed ALOT of advertisements lately like this on craigslist and other sites.

Isnt this illegal?? This person isnt selling a hard drive, or original cds. He is only selling "copies" of the songs and requests you bring him a hard drive to copy them onto.

Funny you should mention this because I was just wondering why everything about the illegal hard drive delemma has died down.
I'm at the point right now where it doesn't matter too much. I haven't heard anything lately about the KIAA or Sound Choice or the Arizona witch hunt.
Yeah that guy is illegal. What are you going to do about it and who are you going to call? We don't have the answer either.

The Virginia cases are likely to be resolved before the Arizona cases, since they're filed in the Eastern District Court, a.k.a. "The Rocket Docket."
The VA jury trials will most likely start sometime in June or July, and be resolved by September.
Last week, I went to Philadelphia, but it was closed.
This could be a new karaoke disc manufacturing business model. 
Make one disc with totally unique songs on it, wait for everyone to steal the music, file a bunch of lawsuits and make a fortune.
$200,000 per song. How many illegal KJs are there? Mega dollars to be made. Far more than buying the rights for hundreds of songs. Making the discs, marketing costs. You just need a good lawyer willing to work off a percentage of the take. He could be a business partner.

I'm not saying that piracy isn't a problem contributing to Sound Choices woos, but is it their only problem?
They used to advertise 150 new songs a month. What happened to that? That number has dropped to just about none. Is it because the demand for karaoke songs is dropping?
Is it all piracy?
Most pirates don't last long because they find out they can't build a karaoke business with cheap everything.
Most disc manufactureres have ignored our (KJs) needs and concentrated on the home karaoke consumer. Maybe the home karaoke market is killing them. Each home user is only going to buy songs they like. I have to buy songs everybody likes. Who buys more songs? Every home user isn't karaokeing 5 nights a week. I am.
From my stupid, unknowing, just a guess 17 years of karaoke experience, 99% of the singers sing the same 5 songs EVERY night. How many discs are they buying??? I sing 600.
So what's killing the market? Bar (KJ) karaoke is still very popular when you do karaoke and not every other distraction know to man. I still have people that want new music. More variety. KJs are responsible for killing some of the bar market. Doing everything at karaoke but karaoke kills the demand for karaoke songs. Daahhh
Are other disc companies complaining? Many are still cranking out many new songs per month.
I don't want to see Sound Choice go under, but who or what is their real problem? Who did you vote for, for President???? Maybe it's the economy? Maybe it's bad business management. I've seen that happen once or twice.

I buy 10-15 new songs a week--online--from Tricerasoft.
What's good about it is that you buy EXACTLY what you want, instead of buying a disc that usually has only two or three worthwhile files.
So I tell my singers, look for what you want on Tricerasoft.com, let me know by email what it is, and I'll buy it and load it in time for their next performance.
That said, the selection isn't amazing. Very little Rage Against the Machine or even Todd Rundgren.
But it is better than buying discs loaded with schlecht!
So does anybody know any OTHER places you can buy songs for immediate delivery online?
