Franchises?

Post by Mobile Music 1 »

In my area, there's a string of Loco's Deli & Pub locations that offer open mic, smaller live acts and karaoke. A small chain of restaurants called Spanky's has karaoke. In Jacksonville, Florida (an hour south), currently does trivia.

What franchises in your area has something going on?

What many businesses, (bar and restaurants) are finding out is their business alone might not survive without sources of entertainment to bring in and keep customers. It doesn't surprise me that any bar or restaurant will try anything entertainment wise.

I play in 2 different sports bars. Sports fans alone can not be counted on to pay all the bills. Fans are too fickle if the teams are not playoff or super bowl winners forget about it. Even a short losing streak can kill a crowd. I would never open a "sports bar" only. My karaoke nights are helping them survive. Most bars are sitting on the fence right now and they could flop anytime. It's that critical.

The only problem these restaurants have is if they serve alcohol and on how good the KJ is. A crappy KJ is worse than no entertainment.
