Philips DVP5990-F7

Does anyone know if the Philips DVP5990-F7 DVD player will play CD+G disks?

It mentions MP3 files. I can find nothing that actually says CD+G. This is what I would be looking for CD+G.

Maybe a call or email to the manufacturer would clear it up.

yeah. I got one at wal-mart for my mom, after hearing that alot of newer DVD players would play them, and this one said it played almost everything, but it did not. I like the looks of this one, and the AVI play via USB is a HUGE plus, but if it doesn't play CD+Gs its no good for my use. I'm hoping to find someone who has one, and call attest to if it does or not.

The only way I can tell if it does is to try it. If it doesn't you can always return it. I have a dawao dvd player that plays cdg. My suggestion is check out www.AceKaraoke.com as they have some good deals.

I would only trust one that actually says CD+G.

You could always take a karaoke disc with you to the store and put it in the display model.

Walmart doesn't have them hooked up so that won't work. I would look t acekaraoke for an actual CD+G player.

If they have display models out you could hook up a video wire to a TV in 30 seconds. All you need to see is if the graphics comes up on channel 3. Make them take it out of the box if they want to make a sale they will. SAY THE MAGIC WORDS....If it works, I'll buy it.
