Is anyone seeing any real challenge from either of these?
Texas Hold 'em was starting to catch on but it didn't last long. I think there are some legalities with this one. Gambling and liqour license stuff.
Name That Tune is at a few places. Nothing to worry about.
I'm still not sure how the NTT even works. Is it karaoke music that you have to name & sing? Who supplies the prizes?
I can't see how singers would be happy doing it. They want to sing and if there is no actual rotation, singing wouldn't be at the top of the list. Technically you might not sing all night long.
Trivia night is rearing it's ugly head around here and seems to be making a pretty sizable dent in the venues I'm doing and hope of doing. The others you mention have had little impact here as of yet.
Most of my custies want to sing and nothing more. We'll see what happens down the road.
I have no idea what you guys are talking about so apparently it hasn't made it's way to my neck of the woods yet. Personally, I don't want to go and play Trivia or Name That Tune ... I go to sing.
The trivia I'm talikg about is on different nights than my karaoke shows but at the same location. Its usually general trivia covering just about everything. Prizes are awarded and its usually 4 to 6 people per team. Its caught on rather quickly down here and seems like it could be fun. Maybe I'll check it out.
