I got an Onkyo amp, I want to connect up a simple karaoke system. I have a mic, but there is no mic input on the amp. I tried to connect via RCA but the volume is very soft. What can I do to setup a simple karaoke system with onkyo amp system?
RCA inputs are line level inputs. A regular dynamic microphone does not produce a signal at line level (+4 db), rather it comes out at mic level (-40 db). Therefore you need a pre-amp to boost the signal (on a typical mixer, these are built in on the Mic inputs).
