First, please don't type in all caps. It means you are yelling. I would have posted before purchasing the karaoke equipment or done a little bit of research before purchasing so you don't overpay for what is needed for a karaoke setup.

sorry about the caps, and as far as the equiptment I bought it through a horse trade type deal and just started using it for myself, then people asked why not do it at different places. I haven't as yet tried to do it anywhere else. I used to have a band so I kind of know how to read people and thought the ones in this forum by what I have read on the post might be the ones to ask. By the way my system isn't anything as good or as large as what you and others might have but its not bad and has a good sound. Thanks a lot.

Good sound seems to be a relative term.

I know many KJs and they agree that I have the best karaoke system around, but they all tell me they are number #2... Me being number 1.

Why would they be happy with being number two????? I can't figure it out. It seems they have what I call....the good enough for karaoke syndrome.

Meaning I have spent enough money to be able to make money, so why do I need to be a high quality KJ?

I will tell you this in all honesty....I won't sing on their systems...Why????

They suck....I can sound crappy in my livingroom. Why would I go out and buy drinks all night to sound bad???

So just starting out you have to decide how good you want to be. What kind of a reputation do you want? What do you want people to say about you when they leave your gig?

Money can fix everything if you spend enough of it. And you can't polish a turd...

I went into this with one goal... to be the best KJ around. I didn't say I want to be number two.

On the day I bought my first system, without ever playing a job, I passed up every other KJ in my area. How???? My system cost more and did more than everyone elses. Nobody to this day, has made the investment I have. So they will never be on my professional level. They don't work as much and they don't have my quality reputation.

It's your business....what will you make of your reputation?

intrudermcm...what are your intentions???

Part time/full time/just for fun????

The answer to this question should be the guide to what your next move should be.

I'm just doing this for fun right now, but I intend to do some KJ part time, I'm just not sure what I want to do or how much time I want to invest yet. I used to have a band about 25 years ago and it got to be a hassel,so I'll play it by ear. Thanks a lot
