Interval / background music
Interval / background music
Hi
I am interested to know what people are using as fill in music, ie: between singers, whilst waiting for them to come upto the mic etc,I currently use a seperate cd player with a cd in it.I am trying to convert my system to an all in one pc karaoke system and I am looking at Sax + Dotty hosting programme which looks great, but how do I play interval music
Thanks

I used a second instance of winamp that I configured to be dj only (none of the karaoke plugins installed). Actually in my case it was a third instance since I was using RoxBox which opens two winamp players(one for karaoke and the other for filler.) BigDog doesn't use any program for filler as he does an all karaoke show, one of the few that still exists in america, else why has Compuhost, PCDJ and RoxBox included this capability in their software? More power to him as to being able to do this. Wish I could go back to that but in my area they expect a mix of DJ and karaoke.
Well I do both KJ and DJ so when I'm KJ'ing i have two sound cards (One Built in, one USB) on my laptop. Each is then run to it's own channel on my mixer. WinAmp for Karaoke is assigned to one and I have SAM Party DJ assigned to the other for playing the interval music. I use SAM Party DJ for my DJ gigs so I just let it run on Auto DJ and fade it in and out at my mixer.
peopla aren't ging to agree on what is best as everyone has their own idea and experience with each software. I shy away from pcdj products since experiencing over half of my DJ collection not being usable by PCDJ Red (the original not vrm). My thoughts is that it is because they want you to use their importer. Because of that I won't give their karaoke a look as I am afraid that it would ignore over half of my songs. That is not good.
You're not the first person I've heard this from either.DanG2006 wrote:peopla aren't ging to agree on what is best as everyone has their own idea and experience with each software. Give Debs Pro Karaoke Player a try.
You can host your Karaoke Show from your laptop. Creating a database list of your karaoke songs is simple. There's no need to specify any file naming format when creating a database list. Simply select the folder that contains your karaoke music, and they will be added.
The Play List is flexible. You can add mp3's to the Play List in between your Rotation, and everything is handled from one program.
You can find it at: http://home.comcast.net/~debs_software/
