Onscreen lyrics overlapping

Hello all, hope someone could help shed some light on my situation. I have a Singing Machine iSM1028Xa the I checked the CD+G discs and they are all scratch/dust free. The onscreen lyrics tend to overlap each other and the color change follow along is slow. I have attached photos of what I am dealing with. I have opened up the center column and detached the wires checked them over for damage and then they semi clear up the screen for a little bit. My question is what can I do to make the screen not have the lyrics overlapping?

I know that this is close to a year late but it is possible that the problem lies with the laser lens on the player.
