Help with Choosing a PA System
Help with Choosing a PA System
Hi, I am currently considering the following PA Systems with a mixer/amp for a home karaoke setup in my basement.
Rockville RPG2X10 Package PA System - $269.95
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VFI ... _i=desktop
Behringer EPS500MP3 - $399.99
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_937EPS5MP/ ... 945&awdv=c
Vocopro KRS-3 - $499.45
http://www.savinglots.com/lotprod.asp?item=KRS3
Yamaha STAGEPAS 400i - $699
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_845STGP400 ... -400i.html
Does anyone have any experience with any of these? If not, what would you recommend? I am more leaning towards the Yamaha but would love to spend less money.
Thank you so much for the help!!

Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
My choice between all of them would be the Yamaha STAGEPAS 400I hands down. I have heard this system as part of a home karaoke setup and it sounded and performed great. For the same price at Amazon you can get speaker stands and a microphone included. My (not really close) second choice would be the Behringer system. I don't think I would even consider the Rockville or VocoPro systems.hchan1 wrote:Hi, I am currently considering the following PA Systems with a mixer/amp for a home karaoke setup in my basement.

Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
Thank you so much for the info. Are there any systems that you would recommend other than the Yamaha? I am open to buy components instead of all in one. (Speakers, mixer and amp/receiver)
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
I've used Yamaha speakers for 23 years in all of my systems...never blew a speaker. They can take a beating... You couldn't give me any other brand For FREE..I've tried PVs and mackies. Nothing sounds as good as a wood speaker box.hchan1 wrote:Thank you so much for the info. Are there any systems that you would recommend other than the Yamaha? What are you using as your karaoke player?hchan1 wrote:Thank you so much for the info. Are there any systems that you would recommend other than the Yamaha? I am open to buy components instead of all in one. (Speakers, mixer and amp/receiver)

Just home use in my basement
Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
Not "where" are you using the system. What type of player are you using? As in a disc player or a laptop.hchan1 wrote:Just home use in my basement
Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
Oh, sorry. laptop.
Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
The other option I would suggest would be an audio mixer with USB support and powered speakers. This eliminates the need for you to match up the amp output power and speaker power handling. In the $700 price range you are not likely going to do better than Yamaha STAGEPAS 400i.hchan1 wrote:Oh, sorry. laptop.
If you go with a USB mixer it will make connecting to your laptop very easy and the digital (USB cable) connection is preferable to analog. Example mixers would be the Behringer QX1002USB and the Yamaha MG10XU. Example powered speakers would be the BEHRINGER EUROLIVE B210D or the BEHRINGER EUROLIVE B212D. I think Yamaha powered speakers would be more than you want to spend. There are may off brands but nothing I can personally recommend.
Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
I will echo wiseguys' recommendation of the Yamaha MG10XU as I use it nightly and get rave reviews for my sound. I would suggest that if you wanted a good set of wireless mics that Rockville makes a great set of dual mic systems.
Re: Help with Choosing a PA System
Made up my mind and got the STAGEPAS today. Thanks for the help!!!
