No, I didn't bring it up, It is the rumor I am trying to lay to rest, not the rebuttal of the rumor. I was replying to someone else. We need to be diligent in standing up against these misleading scare tactics. The key for ALL KJs and singers is to be sure to purchase the original CD+G, and if a bac...

Oh dear, here we go again. Wizeguy says, "What's to stop someone from borrowing discs from someone else and loading them into the CAVS. Or from illegally downloading karaoke music, burning it to disc, and then loading it into the CAVS. " Nothing. But that misses the point. Nothing stops an...

The rule is pretty simple. You must own the original CDG and can only play one copy at a time. Sending out copies with multiple KJs is a violation. This is why the CAVS JB-199 system is such a great technology, You have to have the original CD+G to load in, and then the song is registered inside the...

I wonder if you take your electronic file into a local Kinkos if they will do the same thing? I like dealing with a local store... easier to get them to do corrections when they do something wrong.

Well, I am sorry you have not attended a CAVS show where the host knew what he was doing. Just like the laptop, the CAVS has a learning curve and involves more than just shoving a CD+G into a slot. Most CAV crashes occur when they run across a corrupt file, or when the host has made incorrect settin...

Why does she need to purchase another computer when she already has one that will do the job? She doesn't "need" to purchase another computer. She might want to however. I have two laptops and two desktops, and after I saw what the CAVS could do I did not hesitate to upgrade. It is hard t...

Diane: Glad you hired the KJ. Now you can learn by watching the KJ. Take your time. The most important thing in learning the KJ craft is careful planning. You might also want to look at the CAVS JB-199 Premier. It is a personal computer with custom degined hardware for karaoke. They make loading you...

Wireless headset mikes

Last week I ordered the Shure PG/14 PG/30 wireless headset system from Musician's Friend. I have always considered Shure as the Rolls Royce of microphone systems. I am very disappointed with the quality of the sound. It has very little "presence". It is worse than my least expensive wirele...

I am a KJ in the Phoenix area. It is VERY hard to sort out rumor from fact. I do know that Cd based KJs, as you might expect, are pushing the Sound Shoice/Stellar invasion to the hilt. The CAVS based KJs are rationalizing in their efforts to use newer and more efficient technology that as long as th...

Looking for Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly".

Can anyone help me locate a copy. Music Book Deluxe tells me that HCK002 has it on the 14th track. I am not sure what manufacturer uses the HCK disk number ID.[/list]

I run the CAVS JB199 and I swear by it. I have also visited CAVS headquarters in Los Angeles and they are a first rate operation. Service response on the web is slow, thoough there are many knowledgable people who will help there besides CAVS. But telephone service is excellent. If they do not get t...
