Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
I checked my e-mail, but there was nothing from you. My Junk Mail folder is empty now, but I check it each time before I empty it. You should have my e-mail address from previous correspondence, which probably means I missed your e-mail, and it went out with the junk. So, please try again, and I'll ...

Regarding replacement high quality karaoke tracks, Wiseguy, here's a list of my favorite tracks from my lost CDs: Blue Hawaii Elvis Presley CMC Karaoke If Ever I Would Leave You Robert Goulet DK Karaoke Let Me Be There Olivia Newton-John DK Karaoke Love Me Elvis Presley Music Maestro What Kind Of Fo...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Good News, Wiseguy! I've recovered (well, sort of) all my lost karaoke CDs! The ripped audio files for CD7 turned out to be .wma files. Yikes! So, I downloaded Switch Sound File Converter, which allowed me to convert .wma files to .mp3 files. Then, I used Power CD+G Burner 2 to burn a blank CD with ...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Wiseguy, there seems to be a forum problem. The editing symbol has been replaced with an exclamation point (!) for reporting the post. In any case, I can't edit my previous post, which needs it. Please disregard the first paragraph of my previous post. Somehow, the Force was with me, and I was able ...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Trouble in paradise, Wiseguy. Re: Step Three when processing .wav files, as soon as MP3 is selected, the list of .wav files disappears, and the File Name changes to a .mp3 file. The rest of the settings (e.g., Bit Rate Mode) remain as specified in your tutorial. What to do, what to do? Seemingly, th...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
On my way, maybe so, but as a famous Yogi often said, "It ain't over till it's over", and it ain't over. No, I haven't attempted the .wav audio files yet; I've only done files of one lost CD, which were all .mp3 audio files. As Scarlett often said, "I'll think about that tomorrow.&quo...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Yes, Wiseguy, CD1 is back from the dead! It lives!! OK, it's true I've only completely checked three songs out of ten, but I have checked about 30 seconds of each of the remaining seven songs, and all were OK -- audio and graphics. However, I think I need a graceful exit strategy from your tutorial ...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Oh! I printed the tutorial and never noticed it contained links, possibly because I had already downloaded and installed Audacity several messages ago and wasn't expecting a link. Your tutorial is foolproof but not student proof. Anyway, I downloaded and installed the Lame software using the provide...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Say what, Wiseguy? You stated I must download and install the Lame MP3 Encoder. Well, that program only comes in source code that apparently needs to be compiled to make it useful. Compiling sounds OK, but where do I find a compiler for that source code. Assuming I compile the source code somehow an...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
OK, Wiseguy, I installed Audacity for Windows 10 on my computer and watched and listed to a tutorial on YouTube for that software. Audacity seems to be a fairly sophisticated program, but it appears I only need to use a small part of it. My guess is I only need to: Import an MP3 file with the wrong ...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
The "Use FreeDB to search for the track names on the Internet" is checked, but I haven't noticed any attempt to fill in the song names automatically. My source CDs might not have the right stuff. However, the left-click, left-click technique worked like a bomb. Thanks again... I'm going to...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Copy mode, Wiseguy, is much faster as you stated. However, in that mode, there's no way to enter/edit song names unless you know a way. Without song names, there's no point in printing a jewel-case label, for the song names remain a mystery. Perhaps is some cases, the CD to be copied has imbedded so...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Whoops, Wiseguy, I failed to notice you stated Kbps and the PowerKaraoke guy used kHz. My bad... I'll look into the sampling business some more when I get a chance. However, I'm very pleased to learn you were able to convert my low-frequency files to the acceptable 44100 frequency using Audacity. I'...

Re: Karaoke Hardware and Software Wanted
Wiseguy, I pleaded my case to PowerKaraoke and got the following reply: "Probably a sampling frequency used in the files is not 44.1 kHz. In such case the files need to be resampled to 44.1 kHz. It can be done using, for example, Audacity." Then, I searched the web for Audacity and found i...
