I do not ever leave my equipment at a venue. A couple of years ago I was doing a Saturday night show that ended at closing time 3:00 AM here. The owner always told me I could leave my stuff there and pick it up the next day if I wanted since it ended so late. I never would do it. One Sunday morning ...

Glad to see I could contribute a topic and get some good conversation started. I have to agree with the high ratio of duplicates. Most of my inventory is Chartbuster and I still have a lot.

Thanks guys. This bar might have spent the $400K it is located in downtown Nashville so they get a lot of hopefuls in there wanting to be discovered I guess. That may be why the KJ's push tips so much because they don't get paid very much. As for the tips for bumps in rotation, I do not do it. I pre...

Couple of questions about shows

I was in a bar in Nashville that does karaoke 7 nights a week with in house kj's. They claim to have over 160K songs and they use a computer system. They do not have song books they tell you to just turn in a song and they will have it. I was just curious about a few things. 1. Does anyone else have...

I work in a college town and football is like a religion. So when the local team conflicts with our schedule we start later. Luckily everyone knows it because we only do it for one team and only if they play the late game which usually ends no later than 10:00. We make a party of it and do special t...

I usually update every couple weeks. If I have time. I also redo my books every 3 or 4 months. The bar owner where I do my Saturday night show helps cover the cost.

Thanks for the welcome Sabrina. I appreciate it.

I usually check Chartbuster once a week. They have a store here in town. I also look at buykaraokedownloads.com to see what they may have.

My system tracks my rotation for me. During the first rotation all new singers go to the bottom just before the turn or rotation "marker". After that I tell new singers I will get them up within 30 minutes. My system estimates the times each singer will be back up so I tell them "you ...

I am fairly new. I have posted a few things. I generally try to read for information and reply if I think I can add something to the conversation. If not I keep my mouth shut and watch the Bigdog run. :D

I have 8 of the 9 Chartbuster Essentials and they do not have dupes. Like Dan said however, you will better pop and rock from Soundchoice but Chartbuster is really good for country.

There are a few places here that have done try outs. I haven't participated in one yet. The main gig I have now the bar owner called me because of word of mouth from his patrons. (I had done a gig in another bar nearby). If I did go tryout and was told they would let me know I would not count on it ...

I hate to jump into your conversation but I agree with you BD for the most part. I have been doing shows for 10 years and I always say I am there for Karaoke the dance club is down the street. I use music to control the crowd's mood and have for years. Just something I picked up from working in bars...

Buying the disc will give you the most choices. I buy from Chartbuster all the time. Their main office is in my hometown. Their Essentials 450 series is a nice collection. I have purchased the first 8 so far. They are also in the process of providing downloads from their website. They are very early...
