Nothing had been left out of my last post. The KJ's who are scrambling for work have over 10 years of experience. The venues offering karaoke and the audience for it is are both declining. It's just not what it used to be. When more of the KJ's (supply and demand) decide to leave the business, and I...

Fong BD is most concerned about his professionalism and reputation, and I respect him for that. As a businessman, however, he has much to learn. To start with, I know local kj's that make as much as BD and they: -don't have as much invested in audio equipment as BD or do have as much invested but ch...

I'm not a KJ Dan but many of the KJ's I know run their shows in mono. No one is asserting that karaoke discs are, by definition, in mono. What I am saying is that I've been told that the vocals and recordings should not be split between right and left channels. Every speaker should have the same out...

At a show I attend on Sundays a Fender PD250 is in use. The host of that show works seven days a week. At that show there are usually between 40-50 singers. Since Sunday is a day many KJ's don't want to work, among the singers are anywhere from 3-6 local, REGULARLY WORKING kJ's. SO... does that mean...

The PD150watt Fender can be had for under $400. You would need speaker stands (no more than $100 for a pair). The total unit weighs way under 30#'s. It comes with a mic. The speakers can be positioned wherever you want. And if you're really thinking of taking your equipment outdoors, the Fender offe...

xquisite The 500watt Yamaha system recommended by Big Dog looks good; I really like it! HOWEVER, for a home system I recommend the 150watt Fender Passport, particularly the PD series. They're a great value. They sound great and you'll never need more wattage. Three KJ's in my area have Passport syst...

POSTING FOUND ON ANOTHER FORUM dated 1am EST March 8, 2007 (THIS HAS BEEN CONDENSED) per a Phoenix KJ The letters you are talking about have been sent via certified mail to nearly every one of our bars. The letter is a simple cover letter telling the bar they are at risk by having a host using comp...
